Welcome to OMGC Men's Section
Message from the Captain
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all past, present and future members of Orton Meadows Golf Club.
In these tough time, I will make it my duty to maintain OMGC as the friendly golf club that we all know, supported every week by dedicated golfers with the same intentions – to play competitive golf, improve golfing skills, but above all to have some good banter and a bit of fun.
Unlike many golf clubs in this time of recession, OMGC is fortunate to be in a financially healthy position. Golf club memberships are falling rapidly, but at OMGC we have the unique situation that we can offer competitive golf at a fraction of the cost of private clubs, on one of the most challenging and picturesque golf courses in the area. Players of all levels are welcome to join us, as the emphasis is to play golf and enjoy.
We have many activities and competitions planned for this year, including several friendly matches at courses around the region. The Captain’s Charity this year is Diabetes UK, and as in previous years, I look forward to everyone's support of our activities in aid of charity.
If you have any ideas or suggestions to make this Club even better, I would love to hear from you – my contact details will be on the Club noticeboard, and I will be around the Club regularly, maybe even playing some golf from time to time.
Finally, OMGC is what you make it - take part, good luck, and happy golfing !

Golf Course Etiquette
Probably the commonest cause of complaint is speed of play. In short, be ready to play when it is your turn and don't waste time - try to keep up with the group ahead, not just in front of the group behind
